Snow 'advisory' declared for Mariposa

Tuesday, April 1, 2014 - 11:15 a.m. - As much as four inches of snow could accumulate at the 2,500-foot level by early Wednesday, forecasters said today. Low temperatures were expected to tag 35 degrees F in town on Wednesday morning.

A National Weather Service map today showed a winter weather advisory for the Mariposa and Oakhurst areas. The advisory extended west to the vicinity of Cathey's Valley. 

On Tuesday morning, several inches of snow had accumulated in the Jerseydale area. Mt. Bullion's top also bore a dusting.

Yosemite Valley, as the attached photo shows, appeared more like the middle of winter today.

As of Tuesday, another chance of rain appeared likely on Friday, April 4.
