Greg Knight | The GAZETTEMonday, March 17 2014 - 11 a.m. - The scrappy Le Grand Lady Bulldogs softball team went claw-to-claw against the Lady Grizzlies last weekend and managed to walk away, thanks to a whole lot of luck and a little bit of skill, a 5-4 win on their home diamond.

The Lady Grizzlies led Le Grand for five innings, going up 1-0 in the first off an RBI single by Laurynn Leonard, sending Leah Lafata across the plate before adding three more runs in the fifth.

By the time the fourth inning rolled around, the Lady Bulldogs had tied it up 1-1 off an RBI double. When Mariposa came up to bat in the fifth they were able to put their offense together and send Shea Williams, Claire Bullis and Lafata home to bring up the 4-1 lead.
