He lived 20 years in Washington state, where he developed a passion for the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. His wish was fulfilled this year with the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Lombardi Trophy.

Mike worked 20 years in the plastic extrusion industry. He had a passion for woodworking, boating, and motorcycles, was a sports enthusiast and had an ability to fix just about anything.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother Mary and father Lloyd and stepfather Edward. He is survived by his wife Carol of 33 years, his daughter Bridget of Merced, son Sean of San Louis Obispo, son-in-law Nathan and three grandsons: Collin, 6, Mason, 3, and Westin, 11 months.

Sly will be remembered as a strong, prideful, honorable and intelligent man. He suffered with pain for 18 years and is now free to live on. He will be loved and missed and holds a special place in all our hearts.

A private military salute will honor Sly in May.
