Greg Knight | THE GAZETTEWednesday, March 12, 2013, 10 a.m. - After dropping their Friday opener to Chowchilla on a 5-2 tally, the Grizzlies were able to rebound Saturday as they took away a 3-1 victory against Dos Palos and bounced back to a 8-3 win against Chowchilla.

The outing against Dos Palos was off to a slow start when junior Aaron Lerma pounded a flyball to deep right field for a 3-RBI double to score Jake Williams, Brandon Knauf and Noah Fluharty.

“When I hit it, I wasn’t sure if it was fair or out,” Lerma said of the game winning hit. “I took off and just kept running the bags and when I looked back at coach Vegely he waved me on, so I kept going. Once I saw that the outfielder had it, I stopped at second base. It felt pretty good.”
