Doris Louise Boomer

Doris Louise Boomer, born on Jan. 17, 1920, passed away after a long illness on Jan. 25,


Born Doris Louise Morse, the daughter of Stanley and

Letha Ball Morse in Grand

Ledge, Mich., she married

Charles F. Boomer on Dec. 28,

1939 and they lived in Ohio,

Colorado and California. Upon her husband’s retirement in 1984 they moved to Mariposa.

Doris is survived by her younger siblings, Viola Noble of Ohio and Robert Morse of Michigan. She is also survived by her four remaining children, Sharon Schmitz of Howell, Mich., Pat Beach (Ken) of Monroe, Mich., Jim Boomer (Mary Kaye) of Denver, Colo. and Rob Boomer (Kathy) of Mariposa—and by 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her infant daughter in 1948, her son Dick in 1989, her husband Chuck in 2001 and her granddaughter April in 1976.

She loved all of her family and would do anything for them. Her main objective in life was to just have a good time.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Mariposa Masonic Lodge No. 24 on Jones Street in Mariposa from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
