Friday collision claims local man

A Jan. 17 traffic collision at Highway 49 South and Indian Peak Road has claimed the life of a local man and injured his two grandchildren, the local CHP office has reported.

Thomas Pimentel, 63, died when a Suburban Propane tanker traveling towards Oakhurst struck his Toyota Corolla, a CHP report related. The Toyota pulled into traffic without stopping "for an unknown reason," the report said.

Two male grandchildren, aged 3 and 5, were strapped into child-safety seats and survived the tragedy.

A more complete report will appear in the Jan. 23 MARIPOSA GAZETTE.

Its is too sad to hear yet

Its is too sad to hear yet another tragedy - I still think that a turn lane its needed at that intersection.

Tom was always a happy yet

Tom was always a happy yet thoughtful man. I admired his ability to handle problems without stressing over it. The best tribute is that he lit up a room and when I would see him and his wife together. They were always smiling.

So so sick over this.

So so sick over this.

My heart goes out to this

My heart goes out to this family and their unimaginable grief at this time. God does, indeed, work in strange ways.
