William “Bill” Cooper

William “Bill” Cooper passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 after a long illness.

Cooper was a resident of Mariposa for 23 years and was well-known for his long walks and his friendliness.

Cooper was born on Sept. 24, 1924. He was in the United States Navy for four years during World War II. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6024 in Mariposa.

Cooper is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Lana Cooper; his grandsons Darrell Cooper, Joey and Corey Street, and Eric and Brian Cooper; his grandaughters Cheri Kekaha and Desire Lewis; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Jan. 6 at the Mariposa Funeral Home. Interment was in the Delano Cemetery.
