Shirley Foster

Shirley Foster, owner of Foster True Value Hardware in Mariposa, passed both quietly and unexpectedly Saturday evening, Dec. 20, 2013 in her sleep. Shirley will forever be remembered for her love, kindness, generosity, and uncanny ability to make others feel good without regard to their situation.

Her devotion to her family, animals, and friends will never be forgotten. She was the kindest-hearted person one could have known. Her loss is enormous and far too early. She never stopped worrying about others, be they friends or just people in need.

Shirley is survived by her mother, Peggy; daughters Melissa and Amber; her son, Bryan; mother-inlaw Katherine; and grandchildren Katelyn, Carly, Brandon, Josh and Alex; and husband Troy. Preceding her in passing were her father, Carl, and step-father Carl.

As important to her were her animals which included four dogs, one cat, two horses, a goat, and numerous critters.

In keeping with her wishes, no memorial service will be held. However, her wishes would be that any gifts or donations be made in the name of Mariposa SPCA or Mariposa Manna House.
