Bob D. Standlee, Sr.

Bobby Dean Standlee Sr. was born on April 20, 1936 in Fresno. He passed away in his home in Ahwahnee on Sept. 17, 2013, surrounded by his family, due to congestive heart failure.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Flossie and Ernest Standlee and a brother, two sons, Bobby Dean Jr. and Dennis Standlee and his son-in law Jimmy Phillips.

Bob spent some of his childhood in Arkansas eventually settling in Sanger, Calif. until he moved his family to Mariposa in 1967 while working on Highway 49. Then he moved to Ahwahnee several years later, where he spent the rest of his life.

Bob was a heavy equipment operator for most of his adult life. He was a proud member of union Local No. 3 and worked for Kewitt Pacific. He traveled all over California into Nevada and Arizona pushing dirt.

He loved his work. He loved the people he worked with. He was fast to make friends and keep them forever. He will be missed for his quick wit and his kind heart.

Bob is survived by his wife Dorothy Standlee , his daughter Charity Phillips and his son Chad Standlee all of Ahwahnee. Grandchildren, Jaycee Smith (Preston) of Mariposa, Michael Phillips (Amber) of Coarsegold. Michelle Rounsivill (Greg), J.T. Phillips(Samantha), Kourtni McLaughlin (Jeremy), Chelsee Albright and Bobby Standlee all of Ahwahnee, sister Bonnie Parker (Sam) of Patterson, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. And his dog Little Feller.

A service will be held at Sierra Baptist Church on Road 600 in Ahwahnee, where Bob was a member, on Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. A reception will immediately follow.
