Grizzlies earn first round bye and home playoff clash

Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 - The Mariposa Grizzlies have earned a first round bye in the Sac-Joaquin Section, Division V football playoffs.

The Grizzlies crushed Gustine last Friday night, 42-7, earning them the third place spot in the Southern Athletic League standings behind second place Ripon Christian, which drops to Division VI for the playoffs, and unbeaten league champ Le Grand.

Mariposa will host the winner of this Friday night's contest between Golden Sierra (5-5) and Delhi (5-5) on Friday, Nov. 22. That same night, Le Grand will host the winner of the Waterford (5-5) and Rio Vista (6-4) contest.

The two winners will meet on  Saturday, Nov. 30 in the Lodi Grape Bowl, and it could very well be a rematch between arch-rivals Mariposa and Le Grand.
