Burglars strike three residences

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 - Burlgars, also referred to as “scrappers” by local law enforcement, took their trick-or-treating to the extreme at three residential locations in Bear Valley late last week.

On Halloween, deputies responded to a home in the 4700 block of Bear Valley Road where the homeowner reported the theft of about 100 feet of buried copper wire. They also met with a resident on a Bureau of Land Management road in the area, who reported the theft of a large amount of steel pipe. The missing stack was reported to be five feet tall and 10 feet long.
