Memorial Day observance is scheduled for Monday

Mariposa’s Keith M. Bertken Post 6042, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, will present its annual Memorial Day program at the Mariposa Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27.

A short parade will start at the VFW Hall, at Highway 140 and Hwy 49 North, at 10:15 a.m., led by the VFW Color Guard.

The ceremony is open to the public. Organizations from throughout the county have been invited to participate in this tribute to America’s fallen servicemen and women.

Representatives of participating organizations are requested to check in at the assembly area in the VFW Hall parking area by 10 a.m.

Organizations that would like to participate but have not been contacted may call Rev. Chuck Kendall, post chaplain, at 966-3081.
