Bee swarm makes noise on Sullivan Road

Karen Blakely wasn't sure how to deal with a swarm of bees that appeared on May 28 at her home on Sullivan Road. Beekeeper Lloyd Myers knew what to do, however.

Myers, of the Sierra Foothill Beekeepers Association, has volunteered for the past several years to nab errant hives across the county.

Myers often uses a bee vacuum to suck up bees, but in Blakely's case, opted to set up wooden hive boxes for the swarm to move into. He completed the task on May 29.

The job makes for interesting viewing.
