Robert ‘Bob’ Lobaugh

Robert Harry (Bob) Lobaugh, of Placerville passed away on April 20, at the age of 71.

Bob was born on June 11, 1941 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Burch and Jennie Lobaugh.

He is survived by his wife Karen Lobaugh. Bob and Karen have been together for over 57 years and were married on Aug. 16, 1958.

He loved the outdoors, boating, skiing, camping and fishing and was an avid golfer. He was very entertaining with a variety of musical instruments and he very rarely lost at a game of pool. He has been a member of the Elks since the 70s. One of his many legacies were his words of wisdom, “Prudence dictates a safer procedure,” and “Know when you don’t know.”

He is also survived by his two sisters, Vivian Kalal and Beverly Teeples, both of Hermiston, Ore.; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Debbie Lobaugh of Cathey’s Valley; and his daughter and son-in-law Ginger and Al SoRelle of Hubbard, Texas.

In the Mariposa area, he is survived by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: grandson Steve Lobaugh, his wife Jennifer and their children Kevyn, Konnor and Evalyn. He is also survived by his granddaughter Trista Lobaugh and her family, Daniel Brocchini and their daughters Elona and Keira. He had four additional grandchildren and nine additional great grandchildren outside of MariIn posa. Services will be private.
