Gracie Kidder

Gracie Kidder passed away with loved ones by her side on March 21, one day before her 86th birthday. Gracie was born to Lindsay and Cora Ball on March 22, 1927, in Owensmouth (today’s Canoga Park in Los Angeles County). She was the youngest of seven children.

Gracie met the love of her life, Harry Kidder, as a teenager and later married him on April 6, 1946. They made their home in the San Fernando Valley.

Gracie worked as a senior planned for 25 years at Bendix Corporation. She retired in 1982 when she and Harry relocated to Mariposa. She and Harry owned and operated Lushmeadows Barns from 1984 to 1986.

She enjoyed water skiing, sewing, cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Gracie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harry Kidder; daughter, Kathie Mayhew; granddaughter, Morgann (Joe) Halencak; great-granchildren, Cody, Brandon and Ariel Clayton; Darren (Amber) and Jason (Trisha) Halencak and Amy (Brandon) Scharper; great, great-grandchildren, Jasmine Clayton and Faith, Coby and Brooke Halencak.
