Ted O’Shell

Ted O'Shell, 84, passed away Monday, March 11 after a long battle with laryngeal cancer. Born on Valentine’s Day in Pennsylvania, he is survived by his wife, Kit; his daughter, Maureen Fowler of Temecula; his grandchildren, Leah and Jared O'Shell of Santa Fe, N.M., and Cara O'Shell of San Francisco; and his great-grandson, Samuel Montoya III. Ted was preceded in death by his sons, Danny and Timothy.

Ted was known as the Dodger Beer Man for over 30 years, working for Ace Beverage at the stadium. In fact, that is where Ted and Kit met, as her summer job was in concessions there.

Ted and Kit travelled extensively during Dodger breaks and Kit's summer vacations as a teacher. They moved to Mariposa in 2001 when Kit retired to raise Boer goats, having the TKO Boer Goat ranch for several years.

Services were March 16 at the Mariposa Funeral Home. Interment was in the Mariposa Cemetery. The family thanked hospice and Bootjack Fire for all their help in this difficult time. Instead of flowers, they requested donations be made to Mariposa Relay for Life.
