Cecyl Allyn Rentfro was born April 8, 1930 in Riverside and died Feb. 27 after a short, unexpected illness. He is sleeping in the grave until the second coming of Christ. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Cecyl is survived by his wife, Marylin Rentfro of Mariposa; two sons, Larry Rentfro of Berrien Springs, MI, and Gregory Rentfro of Oneonta, N.Y.; daughter, Rhonda Rentfro of Madera; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister, Beverly Annette Gingles of Calistoga; nephews, Jax Clay of Post Falls, Idaho and Eric Neubauer, who is in the military. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Rentfro; mother, Lynn Fielding; sister, Myrna Spiers; and brother, Robert Helsel.

Cecyl has been a resident of Mariposa for 38 years, where he owned a business called Stoves ‘n Stuff, and was a contractor doing many kinds of remodeling and handyman jobs.

The last 15 years, Cecyl has been a faithful volunteer for the ministry “Bangla Hope” that provides shelter, food, education and medical care for orphans and poor children in Bangladesh. He made numerous extended trips to Bangladesh to supervise construction of two orphanages. Memorial donations may be made to Bangla Hope, P.O. Box 6853, Kennewick, WA, 99336, and will be used for digging a new well and buying more land for the orphanage.

He will be sorely missed also by numerous friends and church members who called upon him for advice and help with projects as he could fix almost anything.

A memorial service was held March 3 at the Mariposa Seventh-day Adventist Church.
