Rain and snow are forecast to return to Mariposa County by early Wednesday and linger over the area through Friday night. Mountain areas above 5,000 ft. may see from 5 to 10 inches of snow through Wednesday night, with additional amounts possible through Friday.

The weather systems are also expected to bring significantly cooler temperatures to the area. Highs in the town of Mariposa are not likely to rise beyond the low 50s through Friday.

Temps "well above seasonal normals" are expected by Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
