Former MCUSD administrator killed in Vallejo

Jill Ballinger/GAZETTE EDITOR

Paul Jacobs, a former Mariposa County educator, was hit and killed while riding his bike in Vallejo on Feb. 13 just after 10 p.m. He was the principal of the Vallejo Adult School.

Jacobs, 63, succumbed to the injuries he sustained last Friday. The driver did not stop and has not been apprehended.

Jacobs was an avid cyclist who could often be seen riding his bike around Mariposa County. He often had flashing lights on his clothing to be seen at night. When he was struck in Vallejo, he was wearing a helmet and his bike was equipped with lights and reflectors.

I respected and liked Paul

I respected and liked Paul Jacobs. He was an extremely hard working administrator, who really tried to make the numbers work for children. I was sorry, like many others, to see him leave our district. What a sad loss.
