Winter weather advisories updated

The National Weather Service has just updated its warning for the coming storm. 

A winter weather advisory in now in place for Mariposa County locations above 2,000 feet from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday. Light snow is expected to begin falling across the foothills by early Tuesday morning and continue throughout the day.

Moderate to locally heavy snowfall is possible from late Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.

Snow accumulations of one to five inches are expected above 2,000 feet.  Locations above 3,500 feet should expect two to five inches of snow.

The NWS has now changed its winter storm watch to a warning. Elevations above  4,000 feet can expect six to 12 inches of snow from late Tuesday morning through Tuesday night. Gusty winds are also expected.
