Pierre Anderson

Pierre Fletcher Anderson, born July 16, 1924, died Jan. 19. He was the son of George and Edith (Cliff) Anderson and brother to Judge Anderson, all deceased.

Born in Southern California, Pierre graduated from Beverly Hills High School. He achieved Battalion Commander in the R.O.T.C. program while attending UCLA. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy (1943-1946), he finished his education at Cal Poly, remaining in the reserves until 1959.

A long-time cattleman, ranching in Mariposa County for 53 years, he was a member of Mariposa Farm Bureau, Madera Cattlemen and the California Cattlemen.

Words can not express the kindness he shared with family and friends throughout his lifetime. He loved green grass, blue skies, rain and cattle. His family loved his blue eyes, big smiles and huge heart.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Anderson of Mariposa; son, Tom (Pam) Douglas; grandson, Justin Douglas; granddaughter, Brooke (Bryson) Sugahara; and five great-grandchildren, all residing in Kauai, Hawaii.

At his request there will be no services.
