"Irregularity" causes momentary power outage on Thursday

By Erik Skindrud / GAZETTE EDITOR

An unknown "irregularity" prompted a brief power outage across much of Mariposa County at 9:54 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27. A total of 3,800 households and businesses were affected, PG&E spokesman Denny Boyles said.

The momentary outage was centered on the county's 115,000-volt main transmission line between LeGrand and the New Exchequer Dam.

Automated equipment prompted the outage. "When the system detects some irregularity, it may rout around it," Boyles said.

Maintenance crews were checking the line on Friday.

It is just the usual outage.

It is just the usual outage. They ignore repairs in this county. We are second class citizens to PG & E & do not get their attention until they have no choice...nothing new.
