Will Badger Pass slopes open on Friday?

By Erik Skindrud / GAZETTE EDITOR

The county's Badger Pass ski area plans to open on Friday--but only if close to two feet of snow falls in a storm scheduled to pass over the area on Wednesday and Thursday.

As of Wednesday morning, between six to eight inches of snow were forecast in the Yosemite-Sierra region.

There is some ambiguity in National Weather Service reports, however. A forecast targeting areas north of Mariposa County mentions the possibility of "near two feet of snow" in the high country.
