Mariposa snubbed in All-SAL football voting

In voting last week by the coaches in the Southern Athletic League, Mariposa’s Grizzlies landed just a solo All-League selection in senior Jason Scherf while Turlock Christian, a team that was winless this season, garnered three All-SAL player slots.

“The voting system is so antiquated it simply doesn’t work well,” said now-former head coach Dennis Blessing. “The Denair coach has a simple solution. As head coach, you can select as many all-league players as you win league games. That’s pretty fair.”

I'm a big fan of their team I wish to see them once I buy alvarez vs mayweather tickets.

Congratulations to Jason. Tough year for Grizzlies varsity football, but when Jarrett Williams crushes the all time Mariposa High school tackles record for a single season with 111 tackles (old record was 88)and led the SAL in tackles for the season, and didn't make the team, I say the systems flawed....what a joke.
