Jill Ballinger/GAZETTE EDITOR

The four men arrested for allegedly robbing the California State Mining and Mineral Museum on Sept. 28 have been formally charged with the crime.

District Attorney Thomas Cooke filed the charges in Mariposa County Superior Court this morning. Matthew Campbell, Jonathan Matis, Edward Rushing III and Christopher Sheffield are named in the criminal complaint, which is some 15 pages long.

The men are charged with attempted robbery by force, burglary, conspiracy, vehicle theft, robbery and vandalism. All charges are felonies.

The complaint also shows the men's lengthy criminal records.

The suspects should appear in Mariposa County Superior Court on Monday.

For full details on the complaint and the arraignment, see the Nov. 22 edition of the Mariposa Gazette.
