Light snow and rain accompany low-pressure system

Precipitation amounts with Thursday evening and Friday's system have been lighter than expected, with just a quarter of an inch of rain recorded in Mariposa as of 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Higher-elevation spots like Yosemite Valley received a dusting of snow.

Additional rain and snow is possible through midday on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Warmer temperatures will return to the area by early next week. Later in the week, however, "another approaching system will return cooler and unsettled conditions" to the area.
