Ferguson Slide bridge has two-night shutdown

The one-lane bridge that gives motorists access past the Ferguson Slide will close for repairs two nights in a row this week. The bridge will close at 11 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. It reopens at 5 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

The full-highway closure is sceduled for bridge work, Caltrans spokesperson Angela Daprato said.

The closest access to El Portal and Yosemite National Park from Mariposa through the six-hour periods will be via Oakhurst.
