Elections clerk issues ballot explanations

Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 -- Mariposa County Elections Clerk, Keith Williams, released the following clarification on election ballots today:

Attention Mariposa County Registered Voters:
By now all sample ballot booklets or vote-by-mail ballots have been in the mail long enough to have reached Mariposa voters.  If you received a County of Mariposa Sample Ballot Booklet, you are registered to vote at a polling location which you will find on the back of the book.

If you have chosen to receive a vote-by-mail ballot or you are in a mail ballot precinct you will not receive the County of Mariposa Sample Ballot; but instead, you will receive your ballot with an insert containing the same information as the sample ballot booklet.  This process has been in place since the 2010 primary election.
If you have not received either a County of Mariposa Sample Ballot Booklet or a vote-by-mail ballot then you should call the Mariposa County Elections Office at (209) 966-2007 and we will help you with your polling location or obtaining a vote-by-mail ballot.
