Volunteers give Midpines Park a brush-up

Park enthusiasts who hope to create a riding, hiking and walking trail along Bear Creek in Midpines spent Saturday clearing brush and completing general cleaning tasks at the county park in Midpines. 

Volunteers with Friends of Bear Creek want to build a riding and hiking trail along  Bear Creek, which parallels Highway 140 in Midpines. The project is in the planning stage, with the group exploring legal and fundraising issues at its monthly meetings.

Meetings take place at Midpines community hall at the park. The sessions are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. the second Thursday of each month.

Participants at Saturday's event included Ron Loya, Ed Temple, Miki Lee, Michele Marcel, Gary Francisco, Paul Lockwood, Dennis Waheed, Wendy Waheed, Don Fox and others.
