Stroming building auction postponed to July 26

Agents for a lender owed more than $742,280 have rescheduled an auction sale for the Stroming Road building rented by the National Park Service. The sale is now scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 26 at the Mariposa County Courthouse.

As reported in THE GAZETTE in June, any change of ownership will have a negligible impact on NPS employees at the building. The property is owned by Coastal Development Company, LLC--owned by Gerald Fischer.

The rescheduling was announced by a bank representative this Thursday on the Mariposa County Courthouse steps.

Auction holder Mary Lou, who declined to give her last name, also announced the postponment of auction for property occupied by Indian Flat Campground and Zephyr Whitewater Expeditions at El Portal.

On Thursday, Zephyr employee Jeanine Scott attended the brief statement on the courthouse steps.

"We rent space at Indian Flat," Scott said on Thursday. "I'm just gathering information on any change that would have an effect on us."

Also this Thursday (July 19), the lender's auction conductor offered properties at 5173 and 5175 Bullion Street for sale at a minimum bid of $261,037.46. With no bids, the properties reverted to bank ownership.
