Wildland fire erupts in Bear Valley

(Dan Tucker | The Gazette)Friday, July 6, 2012 12:15 p.m. -- Around 10:15 a.m. this morning a wildland fire broke out in Bear Valley, burning dry grasslands and threatening three residences.

Quick fire response kept the blaze to approximately eight acres and the threatened structures were not damaged. Several fire engines and crews responded and knocked the fire down as it advanced North toward Bagby.

The fire was located next to Highway 49 North at Bear Valley Road. Reportedly the blaze was ignited by a lawn mower.
