Park marks anniversary of grant

In the midst of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln signed and act that would forever protect Yosemite Valley and the Mariposa Grove. On June 30, 148 years ago, the Yosemite Grant Act assured the world that Yosemite would be available to all. Park officials are preparing to mark this and several other important anniversaries in the coming years. Anyone interested in following those activities can sign up for the 150th anniversary newsletter to stay apprised of activities and projects. More information is available at www.nps.gov/yose/anniversary.
