(Dan Tucker | The Gazette)Tuesday, June 12, 2012 - Just after 12:30 this afternoon, a vegetation fire was reported at Mount Gaines and Hornitos Roads. It quickly consumed acres of dry grassland, pushed by a stiff, warm breeze as firefighters converged on the scene.

Reports vary in size of the blaze, somewhere between 150 and 300 acres. Residences along Old Toll Road and Corbett Creek are in the fires path at this time (2:45 p.m.) but fire crews have stationed structure protection at those locations.

Most roads in the area are closed. CAL FIRE has been throwing a number of resources at the blaze and containment should be accomplished soon.

Look for more details in the Mariposa Gazette.
