Fire erupts in Hunters Valley

(Dan Tucker | The Gazette)Friday, June 8, 2012 6 p.m. - Around 4 p.m. this afternoon a fire was reported in a very remote area of Hunters Valley. Engines responded to the blaze on Hunters Valley Access Road at Williams Mountain Lookout.

A number of engines, a pair of bombers, and a CAL FIRE helicopter battled the fire in very steep terrain. At that time the fire was estimated to be between two and four acres.

Containment is undetermined at this time. No known structures were threatened. Look for more details in the next edition of the Mariposa Gazette.
