Chamber has funds for fire victims

Funds are available to workers displaced by the Fifth Street Fire on May 11. A fund established last week has received many donations already.

The Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce has experienced a great outpouring of aide to help employees impacted by the Fifth Street Fire. Donations have been accepted and an account @ Yosemite Bank has been established.

The Fifth Street Fire Fund has money available to assist with employees' immediate needs. These funds have been donated in good faith by the community, and the chamber would like to make sure they are properly distributed.

Those who need help can contact the chamber at 966-2456. Applicants must provide a recent pay stub to show employment and may receive a small stipend that will perhaps buy a tank of gas or some groceries.
