Tour peloton passes through town


Announced by sirens and flashing lights, the main Amgen Tour of California rider group passed through town a little after 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

The cyclists blew through the center of town with little regard for the zone's 25-mph speed limit. Riders in the leader group included Americans Benjamin King, Timothy Duggan and Alex Howes. 

Results for the race's Mariposa-based Sprint No. 1 segment were Markel Irizar Aranburu (1), Alex Howes (2) and Wilco Kelderman (3).
