Shirley E. Kimbro

Mariposa resident Shirley E. Kimbro died April 13 at Sonora Community Medical Center. She was 82.

Mrs. Kimbro was born in Fairplay, Mo. She lived in Merced for 40 years where she attended grade, high school and college. She was a master canner and preserver through the University of California at Davis. She was a realtor in Merced, retired in 1987, and moved to Mariposa to their ranch at “Big Grizzly Flat,” which was her home for the last 25 years.

Mrs. Kimbro is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gail D. Kimbro; one son, Richard J. Kimbro; one daughter, Shirley Kimbro Lane of Sacramento; grandson, Erik Andersen; great-grandson, Michael Anderson; great-granddaughter, Mackensie Andersen; and granddaughter-in-law, Stacie Andersen, all of Tracy; two sisters, Barbara Hatfield and husband, Dean Hatfield; and Era Lee Hardin, all of Bakersfield.

There will be a celebration of life at their ranch in Mariposa on Saturday, May 19.
