Highway 41 closes again

Jill Ballinger/GAZETTE EDITOR

According to the Central Valley Transportation Management Center, Highway 41 is once again closed because of the April 22 sulfur spill.

The sulfur has reacted with water along the roadway, forcing its closure. The road is closed at the Yosemite National Park gate for southbound traffic. It is closed at the Summervale Campground for northbound traffic.

At this time, it is unknown how long the road will be closed.

Motorist are advised to use Highway 140 through Mariposa.
