Just 2 minor ways to save,

Just 2 minor ways to save, but an indication of waste in government: 1. Why does it take 2 public works employees in a large pick up to read water meters in Coulterville ? 2. Why are lifeguards at the Coulterville pool paid for travel time to/from Mariposa and get the use of a county car ? There is a start.

I think this is so comical.

I think this is so comical. The County is crying about its budget woes. JUST STOP… Why aren’t you looking at your biggest department – Public Works? Why did you hire a director and give him a huge raise? How can this director make more than Rick Benson (County CAO)? Why did you create another deputy director of PW position, making it two deputy directors of PW. Why did you hire another senior engineer, making it now two senior engineers? How much has the budget for PW increase in the past year? $100, $200, or $300K? Is there that much work? I don’t think so.. I know for a fact that state and federal funding has dramatically decreases and will continue to do so for years. SO, I ask you BOARD to please stop and look at the overall health of our county and make some tough decisions and quit wimping out. It is your responsibility to do so and I promise you - most of us will NOT hate you for it.
