School board restores nine teaching positions

Jill Ballinger/GAZETTE EDITOR

The Mariposa County Unified School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the restoration of nine teaching positions at its meeting last night. The teachers had been laid off in March.

The action came following the board's decision to close Mariposa Middle School next year. The savings realized by the closure allow the district to re-hire the teachers. They will be assigned to Woodland and Mariposa Elementary Schools next year.

For the complete story on the board meeting, see the April 26 edition of the Mariposa Gazette.
