Vaughans get the miles they needed

Jill Ballinger

Last month, the Vaughan family of Mariposa made a plea to the community. Their young son, Hudson, needs a special surgery that could change his life. The family needed some airline miles to get to the hospital in St. Louis.

On Monday afternoon, Hudson’s mom, Kimberly, contacted the Gazette and said that the community had responded. “We have airline tickets to head to Hudson’s surgery,” she wrote in an email.

The Vaughan family will head to St. Louis on May 6. The following day, they will meet with his surgeon, and on May 8, Hudson will undergo the life-changing procedure.

Kimberly Vaughan said it will be a long road of physical therapy, five days a week, for the first year. “It’s one we believe is going to greatly improve this amazing little boy’s life,” she wrote.
