Jury finds Hatton guilty

Jill Ballinger

Late Friday afternoon, the jury in the child molestation trial of Kyle Andrew Hatton, 22, returned a verdict in the case. Following the verdict, the courtroom erupted into an emotionally tense scene as Hatton was taken to jail.

The court clerk read the verdict on each of the eight felony counts Hatton faced. The jury hung on one count, but found him guilty on the seven others. In two of the counts, however, the jury did not find that Hatton was 18 at the time of crimes. Therefore, the prosecution dismissed those counts following the reading of the verdicts.
