CAL FIRE suspends all burning

Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 8:45 A.M. - The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit has announced the suspension of all burning in those three counties effective at 8 a.m. today.

This burn suspension is in effect due to the prolonged dry conditions that exist across the counties and the frequency of escaped hazard reduction burns.

CAL FIRE will continue to monitor and evaluate local fire weather conditions, and the burn suspension will be lifted as soon as conditions are safe to do so.
