Am I missing something?? Does

Am I missing something?? Does a bike have a motor? Are the bikes gonna go off road? Will the park be over crowded by the race fans? It would stand to reason the bike race should go through the crown jewel of the state does it not? I'm pretty sure we elected Kevin Cann because of his outside of the box thinking and his overall goal to link our small community to the greatest park in the world (opinion). So please let's not cast a stone and use that energy to come up with other ideas that are needed to bring this race to our area.

Kevin Cann knows better than to promote a professional bike race in Yosemite. Not only would such a race violate National Park Service policy, but it is also contrary to the regulations contained in Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations. It is one thing to boost one's community as an elected official. It is quite another to suggest that a nearby national park host a professional sports event that is a violation of policy and regulation. Rick Smith
