Roger E. Long

Beloved father and friend, Roger Elwell Long, passed away suddenly at home on Friday July 22. He was 64 years young. He was born in Pendleton, Ore. and grew up in La Grande, Ore.

Roger located to the Bay Area in the late 1960s where he met and married Ginger and had his first two children, Raven and Jesse. Later, he moved to the Mother Lode area where he met his companion of 26 years, Tennie Bolin, finally settling in Coulterville where he lived for the past 22 years.

He is survived by his son, Jesse Long; and grandson, Dakota of Washington state; daughter, Raven Corcoran and her children, Jordan and Kaitlyn; his siblings, Dawn Hines-Campbell, and Neva J Ruhkick; and his mother, Ruth E. Long; all of Chandler, Ariz., Everett M. Long of Houston, Tex.; and his sons Shaun D Long, Nicolas B Long of Fresno; and his companion, Tennie Bolin of Coulterville.

Roger was loved by many who knew him, and will be greatly missed. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He will always be remembered by his family and friends as the big guy with a gentle nature and easygoing manner.

There was a wake held at the VFW in Coulterville to celebrate the life and times of Mr. Long. It was attended by many family members and friends.
