How disappointing that Leroy Radanovich has taken such a negative position regarding the historic Garber house. Although he has established himself as Mariposa’s town historian, such a position does not afford him the priviledge of directing the disposition of Mariposa’s historic inventory.

Mariposa County does have a body of volunteers, The Historic Sites and Records Preservation Commission. The commissioners are appointed by the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors and serve at their direction. A few of us have chosen over the past few years to attend seminars, at our own expense, to enhance our knowledge of historic preservation.

Without stating the past negative decisions you have rendered regarding Mariposa County, Mr. Radanovich, perhaps it is the appropriate time to remind you your opinion is not necessarily the opinion of others.

In the future please find the strength to restrain yourself from negative input regarding the disposition of Mariposa Countys Historic Heritage. I believe the collective energy of the Historic Sites Commissioners will render responsible decisions on the projects presented for their review. Ruth Sellers
