Ronald D. Stegge

Ronald Dean Stegge was born on Dec. 1, 1933, in Rolfe, Iowa, to Corliss and Ellen Stegge. He passed on June 17, at home in Ponderosa Basin after having lived there 32 years. He had his wife, Mary Lou Stegge; daughter, Lois Helton; two sons, Edward and Brad Stegge, by his side at his passing, which was made easier by John C. Fremont Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Ronald and Randall Stegge; and granddaughter, Jennifer Stegge.

He is also survived by his sister, Anne Dudgeon; aunt, Donna Berry; daughters-in-law, Sherri and Judy Stegge; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a niece, two nephews and several cousins.

Fishing, both fresh and salt water, was his favorite activity, which he shared with his children. When he was no longer able to fish, he spent many weekends helping in room nine at Woodland School.

A family memorial mass will be held at Holy Spirit Chapel in Livermore on Aug. 6 on at 11 a.m. with a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s in Mariposa on Thursday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a favorite charity.
