When compared to the financial catastrophe of the schools, this headline is laughable. The county operates in the lap of luxury with a deluge of transient occupancy tax easily subsidizing the massive 70% employee benefit package. Let's see...if the benefit package got to 100% of pay, would that be enough for the taxpayer to take notice? If one were to look at the benefits the school employees receive and compare that to the county, I bet one would be amazed.
