Evelyn E. Dennis

A beloved mother, sister, grandmother, cherished friend and a rock to her entire family, Evelyn E. Dennis passed away peacefuly with family at her side on March 7.

Born in Guyman, Okla. on

Nov. 24, 1942, she eventually moved to Mariposa in 1970, a place she always considered her home. She worked for Tavis Corporation for 16 years and volunteered at the Mariposa Museum and History Center. Evie moved to the Bay Area to be closer to her daughter, but never gave up the dream of returning to Mariposa.

It was said that she never met a stranger. She was a great lady who loved unconditionally. She loved being surrounded by music, spending time with friends Bets and Betty, and taking trips with the Red Hat Ladies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited for a graveside service at Mariposa Cemetery on April 30 at noon, followed by a reception at Rena and Ken Wass’s home on Leonard Road. Those attending are asked to bring their instruments and good cheer to celebrate this wonderful woman’s life.
