In response to Mr.

In response to Mr. Mendershausen, If there is one thing that California is short of it is water. There are more than a few that will benefit the additional water that MIGHT be stored in Lake McClure in wet years. The Merced River and Canyon are not PRISTINE nor was the Wild and Scenic desigantion needed to protect a non-pristine river and canyon. All that that desgination did was to stop all commercial uses of the river unless it benefits MERG, the Sierra Club and their associated psuedo-envronmentalists. The first sentence of the last paragraph of his letter is an outright lie. The water spilled over in the winter of 1968-1969. But lies and half truths are the ammunition of the psuedo-environmentalist.
